Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy has endorsed Ghana’s Mohammed Kudus as a potential signing to strengthen the club’s attack ahead of the summer transfer window.
The former England international suggested Kudus as part of options the Reds can sign to boost their options next season.
Murphy’s remarks follow Liverpool’s emphatic 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, a result that sealed their 2024–2025 Premier League title — the club’s 20th overall and their first under new manager Arne Slot.
The Dutch coach secured the trophy without making major additions to the squad in his debut campaign.
Speaking to the BBC, Murphy pointed to West Ham United’s Kudus as a versatile option capable of replacing forwards Darwin Núñez, Diogo Jota, or Federico Chiesa — all three of whom have been linked with summer exits.
“Kudus is robust, skilful and can play as a ’10’ or on the left or right. He is super strong and got great pace,” Murphy said.
The 24-year-old Ghanaian international, who is approaching the end of his second season in the Premier League, has impressed with his dynamic performances and adaptability.
Kudus, a key player for the Black Stars, has recorded four goals and two assists in 31 appearances across all competitions for West Ham this season.
He has also attracted attention from outside Europe, with Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr reportedly preparing a €100 million bid for the attacking midfielder.
