Manchester United will face West Ham United on Tuesday night without a key trio, with Patrick Dorgu heading the list of absentees.
The young defender is sidelined with a thigh injury, while Mason Mount and Matthijs de Ligt also miss out due to fitness concerns. Manager Michael Carrick is set to make adjustments as he prepares his side for the midweek London clash.
United arrive in high spirits following a 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, where Bryan Mbeumo and Bruno Fernandes found the net.
The win marked Carrick’s fourth in a row since stepping in as interim boss, maintaining the Red Devils’ stronghold on fourth place in the Premier League. Momentum is firmly on their side as they push for Champions League qualification.
Injury updates from Carrick offered a glimpse of the team’s planning. “Mason will probably miss Tuesday, but should return for Everton,” he confirmed.
On de Ligt, the manager added: “We’ll see how he develops. He’s positive, moving in the right direction, but Mason’s a little closer to a comeback.”
Despite these setbacks, United may field an unchanged starting eleven at the London Stadium, banking on the current form that has strengthened Carrick’s case for a permanent managerial role.
West Ham will also be missing key figures. Jean-Clair Todibo is suspended, and veteran goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski remains sidelined with a lower back issue.
Reports indicate that Jarrod Bowen, Crysencio Summerville, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka face minor injury concerns, though all have participated in training this week. The Hammers will monitor their progress closely ahead of the fixture.
