Danish youth international of Ghanaian descent Michael Opoku has signed for Norwegian Eliteserien club Sarpsborg 08 in a permanent transfer.
The 20-year-old forward arrives from Danish Superliga side FC Lyngby, penning a contract that runs until June 2028.
His addition is expected to strengthen Sarpsborg’s attacking options for the second half of the 2025/26 campaign.
Opoku, who progressed through Lyngby’s academy system, built a reputation as a technically gifted and versatile player, capable of operating across the front line but most often deployed on the left wing.
Known for his composure on the ball, intelligent movement, and ability to connect play between defence and attack, he has been earmarked as a player with both immediate value and long-term potential.
Last season, he registered four goals in 10 starts for Lyngby in Denmark’s top flight, further enhancing his profile as an emerging talent.
Sarpsborg 08 view his signing as part of their broader strategy to secure promising young players who can develop within the Norwegian league’s competitive environment.
Although Opoku has represented Denmark at various youth levels, he remains eligible to play for Ghana at the senior international stage.
