Daniel-Kofi Kyereh: Ghana midfielder linked with VfL Osnabruck move

Ghana international Daniel-Kofi Kyereh, currently without a club after leaving Freiburg, is being linked with a move to 2. Bundesliga side VfL Osnabruck. The probability of a deal is rated at 55%, with the second-tier club exploring the possibility of adding the experienced attacking midfielder on a free transfer.

Kyereh, 30, became a free agent on 1 July 2026 following the expiry of his spell at Freiburg, where he arrived from St. Pauli in 2022 for a fee of €4.5 million. His current market value stands at around €100,000, a figure that would make a move to Osnabruck a low-risk option in financial terms, particularly as no transfer fee would be required.

Born in Accra and holding both Ghanaian and German nationality, Kyereh has spent his entire senior club career in German football. Before his time in the Bundesliga with Freiburg, he made his name in the lower divisions with Wehen Wiesbaden and St. Pauli, joining the latter on a free transfer in 2020 after helping Wiesbaden win the Hessen Cup in 2018-19.

Having also come through the youth ranks at Wolfsburg, where he was part of the side that won the German Under-19 Bundesliga North/North-East title in 2013-14, Kyereh would bring extensive domestic experience to an Osnabruck squad looking to strengthen its creative options in midfield.

Osnabruck are yet to conclude an agreement, but with Kyereh unattached since the start of July, discussions are expected to focus on personal terms rather than any negotiations over a fee. For now, the 30-year-old remains a free agent as he assesses his next move.
