Daniel Gbolahan joins Al Karma as Iraqi club continues attacking rebuild alongside Ahmed Abdelkader

Al Karma have completed the signing of Nigerian forward Daniel Gbolahan from Iraqi side Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya as the club continues its summer overhaul in attack.

The Iraqi club confirmed on Thursday evening that Gbolahan had officially put pen to paper, finalising his move from domestic rivals Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya.

The transfer means Gbolahan will now link up in the Al Karma attack with former Al Ahly winger Ahmed Abdelkader, who joined the club earlier in the window.

Al Karma strengthen foreign contingent

Gbolahan becomes the latest overseas addition to Al Karma’s squad as they prepare for the new campaign under head coach Moamen Soliman.

The club had already moved to reinforce their frontline by signing Samuel Amadi from Ceramica Cleopatra. The Nigerian impressed during the previous two seasons while on loan at Smouha, earning a reputation as one of the standout attacking players in the Egyptian Premier League during that spell.

By securing Gbolahan from Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya and pairing him with Abdelkader and Amadi, Al Karma are clearly focusing on adding further creativity and cutting edge in the final third.

Soliman leads new project

Moamen Soliman, who is in charge of Al Karma, will now have three new attacking options to integrate into his system as he looks to develop a competitive side in Iraqi football.

Gbolahan arrives with experience of Iraqi domestic competition from his time at Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, while Abdelkader brings a background that includes a spell at African giants Al Ahly.

Al Karma have not disclosed the length of Gbolahan’s contract or any financial details of the transfer, but the timing and profile of the signings underline the club’s intention to reshape their attacking unit before the start of the new season.
