Daniel Fotso: Cameroon striker joins Oltrepo after spell without a club

Cameroon forward Daniel Fotso has joined Italian side Oltrepo on a permanent deal after a spell without a club. The 23-year-old centre-forward has signed a contract with the Serie D outfit running until 30 June 2027.

Fotso, who was born in Douala and stands at 1.82m, arrives as a free agent and will lead the line for Oltrepo in Serie D Group B. The right-footed attacker specialises as a central striker and adds depth to the club’s attacking options ahead of the new campaign.

The move marks a fresh start for Fotso, whose contract with lower-league Italian side Sant’Elena ended in November 2025, leaving him unattached. He had joined Sant’Elena earlier that season following another brief period without a club.

Before returning to Italy, Fotso spent time with Acireale, also joining them as a free transfer in December 2022 after leaving Georgian top-flight side Torpedo Kutaisi. His spell in Georgia followed a series of moves around Europe after progressing through several well-regarded youth systems.

Fotso’s early development came in Italy with Atalanta’s youth ranks and then Roma’s academy, where he featured for the club’s Under-17 and Under-18 teams. He later moved to Croatia with Dinamo Zagreb, turning out for both Dinamo Zagreb II and the club’s Under-19 side.

At youth level he was a prolific scorer, notably hitting 21 goals in 25 matches in an Under-17 campaign, and has also featured in the UEFA Youth League.

Fotso now commits his future to Oltrepo until summer 2027 as he looks to re-establish himself in Italian football.
