Dango Ouattara on target again as Brentford cruise past Frankfurt
Burkina Faso international Dango Ouattara continued his impressive pre-season form by scoring in Brentford’s emphatic 7-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt.
The 24-year-old winger struck in the 52nd minute as Brentford produced a dominant performance in the friendly, giving Ouattara his second goal in the space of a week.
Ouattara entered the match in good scoring form after finding the net against Rennes on 8 August. He scored in Brentford’s 4-1 victory in that game before repeating the feat against Frankfurt.
The Burkina Faso international started the entire match and remained on the pitch for the full 90 minutes.
His latest goal came shortly after half-time, adding to Brentford’s advantage as they continued to control the contest.
The 7-0 scoreline underlined the Bees’ dominance and provided another positive result during their preparations for the return of Premier League football.
For Ouattara, the goal represents another encouraging moment as he looks to build on his progress at Brentford.
The winger joined the club last summer from Bournemouth and has now completed his first season with the Bees.
During that campaign, he made 37 appearances across all competitions, scoring seven goals and providing three assists.
Those numbers gave Ouattara a solid foundation during his first season at the club as he adjusted to his new surroundings and continued his development in English football.
His latest pre-season performances suggest he is entering the new campaign with confidence.
Ouattara’s football journey began at Majestic in Burkina Faso before taking him to France, where he played for Lorient.
His performances there eventually earned him a move to Bournemouth before he switched to Brentford.
He is now preparing to begin his fourth full season in the English top flight.
At 24, the winger has already accumulated considerable experience in English football, while his recent goals against Rennes and Frankfurt have provided further evidence of his attacking threat.
The goal against Frankfurt was particularly encouraging given the manner of Brentford’s overall performance. The London club scored seven times and kept their opponents from finding the net.
For Ouattara, it was another opportunity to demonstrate his qualities ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
After scoring once against Rennes and again against Frankfurt, he has now found the net twice within a week.
Brentford will take encouragement from the result, while Ouattara can use his current momentum as he prepares for the challenges of another season in the Premier League.
