Ghana goalkeeper Cynthia Konlan has been shortlisted for the 2026 Confederation of African Football (CAF) Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award.

Konlan is among 10 nominees for the prestigious individual accolade following her performances for the Black Queens at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The goalkeeper made four appearances during the tournament, playing 360 minutes, conceding four goals and keeping one clean sheet.

She is the only Ghanaian player nominated in the category, which features some of Africa’s leading goalkeepers.

Konlan will compete for the award against Algeria’s Chloe N’Gazi, Cameroon’s Michaely Bihina, Malawi’s Mercy Sikelo and Mali’s Fatoumata Karantao.

Morocco’s Khadija Er-Rmichi, Nigeria’s Christiana Uzoma, Senegal’s Adji Ndiaye, South Africa’s Kaylin Swart and Zambia’s Hazel Nali complete the 10-player shortlist.

Her nomination provides further recognition for her contributions to Ghanaian women’s football and her performances for both club and country.

Meanwhile, the Black Queens have also received a nomination for the Women’s National Team of the Year award, giving Ghana representation in three women’s categories at this year’s CAF Awards.

The 2026 CAF Awards ceremony is scheduled for Monday, December 7, when the continent’s outstanding players, coaches and teams will be honoured for their achievements during the eligibility period.
