Burkinabé cyclist Rasmané Ouadraogo, holder of the yellow jersey, suffered a fall just days before the start of the International Tour of Faso. After winning the MoneyGram Grand Prix, he fell on Avenue Charles De Gaulle when a young boy tried to cross the track while the champion was celebrating his victory. Despite sustaining injuries, including a cut upper lip requiring five stitches, Ouadraogo’s trainer, Kindo Moumouni, assured that it would not affect his participation in the Tour du Faso, and proper follow-up would be maintained until the competition’s departure. The incident occurred during a race involving 61 cyclists from 14 Burkinabé clubs, most of whom were preparing for the Tour du Faso. The Tour du Faso is scheduled to take place from October 25 to November 3.
