The Tunisian Football Federation’s National Appeals Committee has reduced the suspension of Club Sportif Sfaxien (CSS) head coach, Lassaâd Dridi, from six matches to two.
This decision follows an incident during the match against Union Sportive Monastirienne (USM), where Dridi was expelled for pushing an assistant referee and insulting the main referee.
Initially, the Tunisian Professional League imposed a six-match suspension and a fine of 7,000 dinars on Dridi for his actions during the match, which concluded in a 0-0 draw.
The Appeals Committee’s decision to reduce the suspension allows Dridi to return to the dugout for CSS’s upcoming game against Stade Tunisien next month.
During his suspension, Dridi missed CSS’s matches against US Tataouine and AS Soliman. The team’s performance in these matches has been under scrutiny, with discussions among fans about the impact of Dridi’s absence and the team’s strategy moving forward.
As of now, CS Sfaxien sit seventh on the Tunisian league standings with 36 points. CS Sfaxien aim to improve their standing in the league, with Dridi’s return anticipated to bolster the team’s performance.
The upcoming match against Stade Tunisien will be a critical opportunity for the team to demonstrate resilience and strategic prowess under Dridi’s leadership.
