Mohamed Ali Moncer, the Club Sportif Sfaxien midfielder, will unfortunately miss the crucial second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 against Semassi of Togo this Sunday due to a knee injury.
The injury occurred during the postponed match against EGS Gafsa on Thursday, where Moncer came on as a substitute in the second half but was forced to leave the field shortly after. Despite concerns, club doctors have confirmed that the cruciate ligaments were not affected, but Moncer will need approximately three weeks of rest to fully recover.
The team, including Moncer and Ali Maaloul, arrived back in Sfax on Thursday after a long 20-hour flight, only to learn of Moncer’s injury shortly after their return. Moncer’s absence is a blow to CS Sfaxien, as he is a key player in their midfield.
