Crystal Palace track Freiburg winger Cyriaque Irié in €8m move rumour

Crystal Palace are being linked with a move for Freiburg right winger Cyriaque Irié, the Burkina Faso and Ivory Coast youth prospect who currently plays in the Bundesliga for the German club.

The 20-year-old, born in Vavoua on 20 June 2005, is viewed as a wide attacking option as Palace assess forward targets for the Premier League. Irié, a left-footed right winger who wears the No 22 shirt at Freiburg, is listed with a market value of €8.00m, a figure expected to shape any negotiations.

Data from Transfermarkt indicates the interest emerged on 18 June 2026, with the probability of a move still described as “?” and no agreement in place between the clubs. There is no publicly registered contract expiry date at Freiburg, leaving uncertainty over whether he could run down his deal in future and move as a free agent, but at this stage it remains a transfer rumour rather than an advanced deal.

Irié, who stands at 1.85m, has been developing his game in Germany’s top flight, operating primarily as an attacking right winger for Freiburg in the Bundesliga. Recent statistics and contract details around his exact number of appearances and goals this season have not been formally disclosed in the available data, but the interest reflects his growing reputation as a powerful, direct wide player.

The dual-nationality winger, who holds both Burkina Faso and Ivorian nationality, has not yet been tied down at senior international level, adding to the intrigue over his long-term future on the international stage as well as at club level.

With Freiburg regarded as a selling club at the right price and Palace keen to refresh their attacking options, a potential switch to south London would represent a significant next step in Irié’s career if the rumour eventually turns into a concrete offer.
