Crystal Palace have delivered an official offer for the acquisition of Switzerland international of Nigerian descent Manuel Akanji in the current transfer window.
The 30-year-old centre-back is set for Manchester City departure this summer, with a host of clubs including Galatasaray expressing firm interest in the player.
Joining the race for Akanji is the Premier League outfit, who has officially submitted a package worth £15 million in an attempt to lure the highly-profiled defender. Meanwhile, Manchester City have yet to respond to Crystal Palace offer.
The Eagles are poised to bolster their defense as the club seeks to make a meaningful impact in the 2025/26 football campaign.
Having expressed interest in Akanji, the reigning FA Cup champions are expected to go all out to snap up the defender.
Akanji joined Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in 2022 for €20 million and established himself as a key cog to the team.
Since arriving at the club, Akanji has made 136 appearances for the Premier League outfit, scoring 5 goals and providing 3 assists. His current contract with the Citizens runs until 2027.
