Crystal Palace set to keep French-Congolese forward Jean-Philippe Mateta amid Arsenal interest
Crystal Palace is expected to keep French-Congolese forward Jean-Philippe Mateta despite attracting interests heading into the summer transfer window.
Mateta, who has six caps for the France national team was initially linked with a big-money move this summer, with Arsenal and other club expressing huge interest.
The 27-year-old remains a crucial part of Oliver Glasner’s future plans, with the Eagles making effort to keep their asset.
Mateta has been impressive for Crystal Palace in the ongoing campaign, scoring 16 goals and providing three assists in 36 appearances for the club.
Reports emanating from England suggest Crystal Palace are not willing to cash in on their forward. The club is however, planning to renew the contract of the highly rated attacker to ward off interest.
His current contract with Palace is expected to expire in summer 2026.
