Ismaila Sarr is set to remain at Crystal Palace after a summer dominated by speculation over his future, with the club now looking to extend the Senegal international’s contract beyond its current June 2029 expiry.
Talks have taken place between the 28-year-old forward’s representatives and the London club’s hierarchy, according to Sky Sports. However, an agreement has not yet been reached and further adjustments are required before a new deal can be completed.
Sarr has produced a series of strong performances, helping maintain his value in the transfer market. Several leading Premier League clubs are continuing to monitor his progress.
Galatasaray continue to monitor situation
Galatasaray are also following developments closely after making a formal offer for Sarr during the summer transfer window.
The Istanbul club is currently taking a watching brief rather than immediately submitting another proposal, according to journalist Ekrem Konur. Its representatives want to assess how discussions between Sarr and Crystal Palace develop before deciding whether to make a fresh approach.
There are no direct negotiations between the two clubs at present. However, Galatasaray could return for the forward if talks over a contract extension break down and the financial conditions prove favourable.
Sarr, who was born in Saint-Louis, is valued at 45 million euros by Transfermarkt. His annual salary is listed as 4 348 684 euros, equivalent to 2 826 644 600 FCFA.
Crystal Palace’s next fixture is against Nottingham Forest in the sixth round of the English league season.
