Crystal Palace reject £50m Liverpool bid for Senegal star Ismaïla Sarr

Crystal Palace have reportedly rejected a £50 million bid from Liverpool for Senegal international Ismaïla Sarr, with the Eagles determined to keep the winger despite growing interest from several major clubs.

The Premier League giants have identified Sarr as a potential addition to their attack as they continue their search for a new right-sided winger. The Premier League champions made their move for the 28-year-old, but Palace have made it clear that they are not prepared to let one of their key attacking players leave easily.

Liverpool’s approach therefore becomes the latest attempt to prise Sarr away from Palace during the current summer transfer window.

Before Liverpool entered the race, Galatasaray had already made two bids for the Senegalese winger, with both proposals rejected by the London club.

Palace’s decision to turn down offers from both Galatasaray and Liverpool underlines the importance of Sarr to their plans. The club are understood to have no intention of actively selling the player and remain focused on retaining him as they prepare for the new season.

Sarr joined Crystal Palace from Marseille in August 2024 and has since developed into one of the club’s most influential attacking players.

The Senegal international enjoyed a particularly impressive 2025/26 campaign, producing the best goalscoring season of his Palace career. He scored 21 goals in all competitions, playing a key role in the club’s historic trophy-winning campaign.

His pace, direct running, ability to attack from the right flank and goalscoring contribution have made him an important component of Palace’s attacking setup.

Liverpool’s interest is therefore understandable as the Reds look to add more quality and depth to their wide attacking options. Sarr’s Premier League experience and proven goalscoring record make him an attractive candidate for the role.

However, Palace’s response suggests that Liverpool will face a difficult task if they want to complete the signing.

The rejection of a £50 million offer, following two unsuccessful approaches from Galatasaray, indicates that Palace’s priority is currently to keep Sarr rather than cash in on his impressive form.

Liverpool could yet return with an improved proposal, but any further approach is likely to test Palace’s resolve even further.

For now, the Senegalese winger remains a Crystal Palace player, with the club firmly standing behind their plan to retain him despite increasing interest from both England and abroad.
