Crystal Palace open contract renewal talks with Franco-Congolese forward Jean-Philippe Mateta

Crystal Palace have offered contract renewal offer to France international of DR Congo descent Jean-Philippe Mateta amid growing interest.

The 28-year-old attacker joined the Eagles in 2022 and has since established himself as a key member of the Eagles. Mateta has attracted significant interest following his outstanding performance.

According to reports, the Premier League outfit are aware of the growing interest from top clubs in the attacker as the winter window approaches.

In an attempt to ward off interest and losing the attacker on a free transfer, the Eagles has submitted contract renewal offer to Mateta.

Despite not reaching agreement, Crystal Palace are willing to offer Mateta highly lucrative terms and include a release clause in the deal to tie him down at the club.

Mateta joined Palace in 2022 for €11 million from German side Mainz. The Frenchman has made 171 appearances for the Eagles, scoring 54 goals and providing 12 assists.

With his current contract exoring in 2027, the Premier League club will be hoping to tie the striker down.
