Crystal Palace and Fulham maintain interest in Trabzonspor defender Chibuike Nwaiwu

Crystal Palace and Fulham remain interested in Trabzonspor defender Chibuike Nwaiwu, despite failing to sign the 23-year-old Nigerian during the summer transfer window.

The two London clubs are continuing to monitor Nwaiwu ahead of a possible approach during the January transfer window, according to exclusive information from Africafoot.

Nwaiwu joined Trabzonspor in January from Wolfsberger AC and has quickly attracted attention with his performances in the Turkish league. His displays have strengthened the view that he has significant potential, while Crystal Palace and Fulham have continued to follow his progress closely.

Both English clubs could revive their interest in January. However, any move is also likely to depend on Trabzonspor’s position, with the Turkish club not appearing particularly keen to part with the defender.

Nwaiwu could remain at Trabzonspor until end of season

Nwaiwu is reportedly settled at Trabzonspor and could stay with the club until the end of the season.

He is under contract until June 2030 and is valued at 18 million euros by Transfermarkt. Crystal Palace and Fulham will therefore need to persuade Trabzonspor to change its stance if either club is to make progress in the next transfer window.

Trabzonspor’s next fixture is against Alanyaspor in the 11th round of the Turkish league.
