Croatian gaffer Krunoslav Jurčić set to leave Egyptian outfit Pyramids FC
Croatian tactician Krunoslav Jurčić is set to bring his successful spell at Egyptian side Pyramids FC to an end, after both parties agreed to part ways at the expiration of his contract in June.
Jurčić, who took charge of the club in February 2024, will leave after a period widely regarded as one of the most successful chapters in the club’s recent history.
During his tenure, he transformed Pyramids FC into a dominant force both domestically and on the continental stage, delivering a remarkable collection of silverware.
Under his leadership, Pyramids FC secured back-to-back triumphs in the Egyptian Cup, establishing themselves as one of the most consistent cup teams in the country. The success in domestic competition was soon matched by continental and intercontinental glory.
The Croatian coach guided the Egyptian side to victory in the prestigious CAF Champions League, a landmark achievement that elevated the club’s status across African football. He further added the CAF Super Cup to his trophy haul, reinforcing Pyramids FC’s growing reputation as a continental powerhouse.
Jurčić’s influence also stretched beyond Africa, as he led the club to success in the FIFA Africa-Asia-Pacific Cup, showcasing Pyramids FC’s ability to compete against elite opposition from other regions.
Despite the impressive achievements, both Jurčić and the club have opted to part ways at the end of his contract, bringing a natural close to a highly productive partnership.
The decision marks the end of a transformative period for Pyramids FC, who under Jurčić’s guidance evolved into one of the most decorated teams in African football within a short span of time.
Attention now turns to who will succeed the Croatian coach, with the club expected to make a key appointment ahead of the new season as they aim to maintain their recent success and build on the strong foundations left behind.
