Cristiano Ronaldo’s pursuit of 1,000 career goals continues with Al Nassr, and the Portugal forward is showing no sign that turning 41 has diminished his ambitions or physical condition.
With his 42nd birthday approaching in February, Ronaldo continues to perform at an exceptional level and regularly displays the fitness that has allowed him to remain competitive at the highest level. His condition has prompted renewed interest in the habits that have helped him sustain his career.
Spanish nutrition expert Jonny Ondina says the answer is not a rare ingredient or a remarkable dietary formula, contrary to what some might expect.
Speaking in comments reported by Spanish newspaper AS, Ondina said the key feature of Ronaldo’s diet was something simple but difficult for many people to maintain, whether they are professional athletes or not.
“The secret of Cristiano Ronaldo’s diet is an element that 90% of ordinary people and professional athletes lack: consistency,” Ondina said.
He explained that most of the foods and ingredients Ronaldo uses at home are widely available. The difference, he said, is not necessarily the type of food itself, but the player’s ability to follow his nutritional routine continuously.
Ronaldo’s diet may appear repetitive, Ondina added, but it is built around commitment and persistence. He believes those qualities are absent from a large proportion of people, including elite sports professionals.
Many people search for quick answers or exceptional recipes when trying to improve their health and fitness, particularly because of the large volume of advice shared on social media.
Ondina said that approach could lead people to overlook basic principles that require time and dedication before producing results. Among those principles, he identified the regular adoption of a balanced diet as particularly important.
“We often tend to rely on magical solutions and advice from social media, while overlooking the fundamental importance of consistency,” he said.
The nutrition expert’s comments suggest that Ronaldo’s routine does not depend on a special food or a regime that is impossible for others to follow. Instead, its central feature is his determination to maintain the same habits every day.
That discipline has helped Ronaldo preserve his physical readiness into his 41st year and continue his attempt to reach the landmark of 1,000 goals in his career.
