Cristiano Ronaldo, in an interview with France Football, revealed that if he had the opportunity to vote for the winner of the 2012 FIFA Ballon d’Or, he would vote for himself. He acknowledged the rule that players are not allowed to vote for themselves but expressed the belief that most players would vote for themselves if given the chance. Ronaldo stated, “I will vote in all conscience for players who have won major titles, who have performed well throughout the year. It is therefore likely that I will vote for a Spanish player (…). Real, of course!”
Having previously won the Ballon d’Or in 2008, Ronaldo emphasized that his vote, if he had one, would be based on the performance and achievements of players throughout the year.
