Cracovia bring in Eritrean-English forward Siem Eyob-Abraha from Sheffield United

Eritrean-English centre-forward Siem Eyob-Abraha has joined Polish club Cracovia from Sheffield United Under-18s, beginning a new chapter in the Ekstraklasa at the age of 18.

Eyob-Abraha completed the move on 3 September 2026 and has signed a contract with Cracovia running until 30 June 2028. The transfer follows two seasons with Sheffield United’s youth setup, where he made the move from Manchester United’s youth ranks in July 2024.

Born in Agordat, Eritrea, Eyob-Abraha holds Eritrean and English nationality. He operates as a centre-forward and is right-footed, giving Cracovia a young attacking option as he moves into senior football in Poland.

His previous experience came largely in English youth competitions. He represented Sheffield United in the FA Youth Cup, the Premier League Cup and the Under-18 Premier League, while his earlier time at Manchester United Under-18s ended with him collecting an English Youth League winner’s medal in the 2023-24 season.

Eyob-Abraha’s arrival in Krakow represents his first recorded move away from English youth football. He joins Cracovia after progressing through two prominent academy environments, with the transfer taking him from Sheffield United’s Under-18 side to a club competing in Poland’s top division.

Cracovia have not disclosed a transfer fee for the move. The forward will wear the number 27 shirt at his new club, where his agreement is in place for the next two seasons. His signing also adds an 18-year-old player with experience in high-level youth competitions to Cracovia’s squad.

The move completes Eyob-Abraha’s switch from Sheffield United Under-18s to Cracovia, with his contract lasting until June 2028.
