CR Belouizdad, USM Alger, and Olympique Akbou emerged victorious in their respective age categories in the Algerian Mobilis Youth Cup finals, held on Saturday at the May 8, 1945 Stadium in Sétif.
In a dramatic Under-19 final, CR Belouizdad stunned defending champions MC Alger with a thrilling comeback that culminated in a penalty shootout victory.
The match ended 2-2 in regulation time after a first-half double from MC Alger had seemingly put them on course to retain the trophy.
Despite trailing 2-0 at half-time, Belouizdad mounted an impressive fightback in the second half, drawing level before holding their nerve in the shootout to seal a 5-4 win on penalties.
The result sees CRB dethrone MCA, who had won last year’s final against MC Oran, also on penalties.
With the win, CR Belouizdad adds their name to the U19 Cup winners’ list, showcasing the resilience and determination of their young talents.
Earlier in the day, USM Alger captured the Under-15 title with a composed performance against WA Mostaganem.
A goal in each half secured a 2-0 win for USMA, who now succeed JS Kabylie as U15 champions. JSK had dominated the previous edition with a commanding 5-0 victory over A Boussaâda.
USMA’s disciplined showing in Sétif highlighted their ability to control the tempo and apply pressure at key moments, ultimately making the difference in a tightly contested match.
In the Under-17 final, Olympique Akbou edged past ES Sétif in a tense clash decided by penalties.
The game had ended 1-1 after full time, with both sides displaying attacking intent and defensive resolve.
The shootout saw Akbou prevail 7-6 in a nail-biting conclusion, securing the club’s first major youth title.
Olympique Akbou’s victory ends Paradou AC’s brief reign as U17 champions.
Paradou had claimed the title last year with a 2-0 win over CS Constantine, but Akbou’s sharp execution under pressure ensured their place in this year’s honours list.
The three finals delivered a day of excitement and promise for Algerian football, showcasing the depth of emerging talent across the country.
From comeback stories to clinical finishes, the youth categories proved once again that the future of Algerian football remains bright.
