CR Belouizdad and MC Alger played out a 1-1 draw on Monday in a crucial Round 25 clash that could shape the destiny of the Algerian League title.
MC Alger, who now have 46 points, remain top of the table and still hold a game in hand. Belouizdad, just one point behind, sit in third with 45 points. The tightly contested encounter saw Mohamed Saliou Bangoura put MC Alger ahead in the 54th minute, before Lotfi Boussour fired home the equaliser for Belouizdad in the 71st minute.
This result leaves the title race wide open, with just a single point separating the top three teams.
Elsewhere, Shabiba Kabylia climbed to second place after edging Mouloudia El Beid 2-1 away from home. Ivan Ignatiev opened the scoring in first-half stoppage time. Yassine Zaghd levelled for the hosts in the 59th minute, but Ahmed Maamri’s late strike in the 87th minute sealed the win.
Kabylia are now level on points with MC Alger but trail on goal difference.
