Coventry linked with Fenerbahce striker Sidiki Cherif

Guinea striker Sidiki Cherif has been linked with a move from Fenerbahce to Premier League club Coventry.

Cherif, 19, joined Fenerbahce permanently from Angers SCO on 1 July 2026 after spending part of the previous season with the Turkish club on loan. The transfer was completed for €18m, with the forward now valued at the same figure.

The centre-forward has made one appearance for Fenerbahce this season, playing two minutes in the Champions League qualifying round. He has not started a match or scored for the club during the campaign so far.

Cherif developed through Angers’ academy before leaving France for Fenerbahce. His move to Turkey followed a loan spell that began in February 2026, when Fenerbahce paid a €4m loan fee.

The reported interest from Coventry comes shortly after Cherif’s permanent switch to Istanbul. No probability or details of negotiations have been given, and the rumour does not indicate whether Coventry have made a formal offer.

Cherif’s current contract with Fenerbahce runs until 30 June 2030.
