Rolland Courbis, known for his outspokenness, didn’t hold back when discussing potential candidates for the Marseille coaching position. Despite speculation surrounding Zinedine Zidane’s future, Courbis believes it would be a disastrous move for Marseille.
“OM is one of the toughest clubs to manage. Would appointing Zidane be a good idea? No! It would likely end in disaster. Managing OM requires experience elsewhere, even if you’re Pelé. If you bring the Real Madrid staff to OM, then yes. But to be the head coach, Zidane is too smart to take that risk. He’s anything but foolish,” Courbis stated to Provence, as reported by RMC.
Currently serving as an assistant coach at Real Madrid, Zidane recently obtained his coaching credentials and is still learning the ropes. While some envision him leading the French national team in the future, Zidane has remained tight-lipped about his ambitions. Meanwhile, names like Mircea Lucescu, Zenden, and Laudrup are being mentioned as potential replacements for José Anigo at Marseille next season.
