It’s unfortunate news for Stade Rennais as Cheikh M’Bengue, the full-back, has suffered a muscle tear in his left thigh, as reported by Africa Top Sports. This injury rules him out of contention for the Coupe de France final against Guingamp.
The Senegalese international sustained the injury during the match against Saint-Etienne, which ended in a goalless draw last Friday. According to reports from L’Equipe, M’Bengue is expected to be sidelined for around two weeks due to this injury.
This setback means that M’Bengue will be unable to take to the pitch at the Stade de France on May 3 for the final, which is also a highly anticipated Breton derby.
