Côte d’Ivoire claim Women’s FIFA Series 2026 title as Mauritania end strong in Abidjan
Côte d’Ivoire have been crowned champions of the Women’s FIFA Series 2026 after a perfect run on home soil, sealing three wins from three with a hard-fought victory over ten-player Pakistan in Abidjan.
The hosts were made to work for their final triumph but ultimately did enough to secure the title, with both goals coming from well-executed set pieces.
Bernadette Amani’s corner deliveries proved decisive, as Côte d’Ivoire struck twice from headers on either side of the break.
Ami Diallo opened the scoring just before half-time, finishing at the second attempt to continue her rich form in the tournament.
The forward ended the competition with five goals, including a four-goal haul against Turks and Caicos Islands earlier in the campaign.
After the interval, Habibou Ouedraogo doubled the advantage in similar fashion, rising highest to meet another Amani corner and put the result beyond doubt.
Pakistan’s challenge unravelled late in the match when Anmool Hira was sent off for a goal-line handball. Côte d’Ivoire were handed a penalty from the incident, but substitute Priscille Kreto failed to convert, with the spot-kick saved.
Elsewhere, Mauritania finished the tournament in second place after a dominant win over Turks and Caicos Islands, led by a hat-trick from Tacko Diabira.
Diabira opened the scoring by racing clear of the defence and finishing calmly, before converting from the penalty spot to complete her brace. She later sealed her treble with a composed second-half strike.
Leila Blal also made her mark with goals in both halves, while substitute El Ghaiba Fall capped off the performance with a fine late finish to secure a convincing victory for Mauritania.
