The former president of the Congolese Football Federation (Fecofa) and a close associate of Samuel Eto’o, shed light on the tumultuous situation surrounding the presidency of Fecafoot. The appointment of the new coach, “Marc Brys,” has sparked fresh controversy, with Eto’o disavowing the appointment and seeking a successor.

Omari implicates Seidou Mbombo Njoya, a former president of Fecafoot and current member of the executive committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), in what he alleges to be a deliberate scheme against Eto’o.

According to Omari, since Eto’o assumed leadership at Fecafoot, there has been a concerted effort to undermine him, culminating in the current turmoil.

Omari expressed his concerns, stating, “From the day Samuel Eto’o displayed his independence of mind at the head of Fecafoot, his demise was orchestrated.”

The impending CAF executive committee elections in 2025 add another layer of complexity to the situation, as certain members, including former allies turned adversaries of Eto’o, seek to renew their positions.

Omari suggests that Eto’o’s refusal to guarantee support for these individuals has prompted efforts to oust him from his position.

Omari further warns of the consequences if Eto’o is removed from Fecafoot’s leadership, emphasizing the potential division among former Cameroonian players and the detrimental impact on the federation.

He describes sinister forces at play, manipulating former players for their own gain.

Despite the challenges, Omari underscores the positive impact of Eto’o’s tenure, noting significant reforms and the resolution of a longstanding crisis within Fecafoot.

He asserts that Eto’o’s independence and commitment to change have made him a target for those with vested interests.

In light of these revelations, the controversy surrounding Fecafoot’s presidency deepens, casting a shadow over the future of Cameroonian football and raising questions about the integrity of football governance in Africa.
