Congolese striker Jonathan Bolingi is on the verge of making his long-awaited return to action for Serbian club Vojvodina after an extended spell on the sidelines.
The 29-year-old forward, who has been out of competitive football since July 2023, recently marked his presence on the team’s match sheet four times, including the 22nd round fixture against Partizan Belgrade.
It was his first inclusion in the squad since his health setback, signaling a significant step in his recovery journey.
Bolingi’s last appearance on the pitch came on July 30, 2023, before he was forced to step away due to a lung infection.
The illness struck shortly after his return from international duty with DR Congo in Kinshasa, ruling him out of action for several months.
The former Standard Liège forward underwent medical treatment and rehabilitation, allowing him to gradually regain fitness.
His return to the squad represents a major milestone in his recovery, with hopes high that he will soon resume competitive action.
Vojvodina will be looking to benefit from Bolingi’s experience and attacking prowess as they navigate the remainder of the season.
