Congolese outfit AS Maniema part ways with Congolese coach Papy Kimoto
Congolese outfit AS Maniema Union have officially announced the departure of head coach Papy Kimoto Okitankoyi, bringing an end to his tenure at the club.
Kimoto leaves the Congolese outfit after nearly two years in charge. However, no specific reasons were provided for the sudden split between the Congolese tactician and the Linafoot side.
The gaffer, who had been at the helm since 2022, leaves behind a spell described by the club as one marked by professionalism, commitment, and dedication.
Meanwhile, the club has expressed appreciation for his contributions during his time in charge.
“AS Maniema Union announces the end of its collaboration with its head coach, Papy Kimoto Okitankoyi. The club thanks him for his commitment and the work accomplished during his time here,” the statement read.
With the managerial position now vacant, the club has opted for an interim solution while the search for a permanent replacement continues. The second assistant coach, alongside the goalkeeping coach, will oversee team affairs on a temporary basis as preparations continue for upcoming fixtures.
The club also confirmed that an announcement regarding Kimoto’s successor will be made in due course, signaling a new chapter for AS Maniema as they look to maintain stability during the transition period.
Kimoto’s departure marks a significant change for the Congolese side, and attention will now turn to who will be entrusted with leading the team forward in the next phase of the season.
