Dieumerci Mbokani, the 27-year-old Congolese striker, achieved the honor of being named the best player in the Belgian championship. This recognition came on a Wednesday, with Mbokani surpassing competitors Jelle Vossen and Silvio Proto. The Anderlecht player’s remarkable achievement includes scoring an impressive 26 goals in the previous season.
Mbokani, who was in South Africa at the time, dedicated the Golden Shoe award to his family and team. Additionally, he expressed confidence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s (DRC) participation in the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2013). According to Mbokani, he believes that Congo has the potential to go all the way in the tournament.
