The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) received a letter from the Congolese Football Federation concerning the decision of the CAF Appeals Committee regarding the suspension of the national coach, Walid Regragui.

A reputable source within the football association revealed that the Congolese Football Federation, in its correspondence, expressed the robust relationship between the two parties aimed at fostering and advancing football development in the two brotherly nations.

The same source added that the Congolese Federation affirmed its respect for the recent decision of the CAF Appeals Committee, deeming it as definitively closed.

This marks a reversal by the Congolese Football Federation from the tone of its previous disapproving statement issued on Monday.

At that time, the federation had threatened to resort to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to appeal the annulment of Regragui’s suspension.

It is noteworthy that CAF had initially penalized Regragui with a four-match suspension, including two matches suspended, in connection with the incidents following the Morocco vs. Congo match in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

However, the Appeals Committee later decided to annul those sanctions.

The diplomatic exchange between the football federations underscores the significance of maintaining positive relations in the realm of African football.

Both nations seem committed to promoting collaboration and unity for the collective advancement of the sport in the region.
