Al Ahly have announced that midfielder Ahmed Nabil Kouka will miss the team’s clash against Palmeiras in their second match at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
The Egyptian giants will take on the team from Brazil on Thursday, June 19, in a Group A encounter at the tournament.
Ahmed Nabil Kouka missed Al Ahly’s training session on Tuesday due to an injury he sustained during the opening match against Inter Miami.
Before the training, Al Ahly’s first-team doctor, Ahmed Gaballah, confirmed in an official statement on the club’s website that Ahmed Kouka will miss the session due to a knee bruise.
Al-Ahly’s doctor explained that Kouka only trained in the gym on Monday, before missing Tuesday’s group training session due to the injury he sustained during the Inter Miami match.
Gaballah indicated that Al-Ahly’s technical staff preferred not to allow him to participate in training for fear of aggravating the injury.
After further assessments on Wednesday, it has been agreed that Ahmed Nabil Kouka should not feature in the match against Palmeiras on Thursday.
The game is scheduled to kick off at 4 pm.
