The second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round produced several decisive results on Sunday, with numerous teams securing qualification to the group stage. Only the match between ESAE FC and Génération Foot, scheduled for Wednesday, remains to finalize the bracket.
Among the favorites, Pyramids FC delivered a commanding 3-0 victory over Young Africans, ensuring their progression with a 5-1 aggregate score. Paradou AC also impressed, dominating Ugandan side KCCA FC 4-1 to advance comfortably. Horoya AC continued their strong form following a first-leg win in Conakry, defeating Bandari FC 1-0 in Nairobi for a 5-2 aggregate triumph.
Moroccan clubs RS Berkane and Hassania Agadir secured their places in the group stage as well. RS Berkane, last year’s competition finalist, routed Fosa Juniors 5-0, while Hassania Agadir narrowly defeated Green Eagles 2-1 to progress with a 3-2 aggregate. Meanwhile, Nigerian side Enyimba International overcame TS Galaxy 2-1 in Nelspruit, advancing 4-1 on aggregate, and Enugu Rangers edged past ASCK of Togo 1-0, leveling their aggregate 2-2 but progressing on away goals.
Other notable qualifiers include Al Masry SC, who completed a 6-0 aggregate over Côte d’Or with a 2-0 win, Zanaco FC of Zambia, who crushed Cano Sport 5-1 to advance 8-2 on aggregate, and DC Motema Pembe, who defeated Gor Mahia 2-1 for a 3-2 aggregate success. Bidvest Wits secured a dominant 6-0 home victory against UD Songo, finishing 8-1 on aggregate, while Mauritania’s FC Nouadhibou made history with their first-ever group stage appearance despite a 3-2 defeat to Triangle United, advancing 4-3 on aggregate.
Other advancing sides included FC San Pedro, who overcame Asante Kotoko 2-0 for a 2-1 aggregate win, and Djoliba, who dominated Elect Sport 4-0, completing a 5-0 aggregate. Pyramids’ strong 3-0 win, combined with previous leg results, highlighted their attacking firepower with goals from Eric Traoré, Mohamed Farouk, and Abdallah El Said. Paradou AC’s convincing win featured goals from Salaheddine Herrari, Yousri Bouzok, Abdelkahar Kadri, and Aimen Bouguera. RS Berkane also excelled with a quartet of scorers, including Alain Traoré, Mohamed Aziz, and Hamdi Laachir.
These results set the stage for the CAF Confederation Cup group stage, with the draw scheduled for November 10. The competition will feature a mix of historically strong African clubs and emerging sides, promising an exciting and competitive tournament ahead. With several teams advancing with dominant performances, expectations are high for thrilling matches in the group phase, as clubs aim to showcase their talent and vie for continental glory.
