The Conakry International Tournament for under-18s (TIC U18) has been postponed, organizers announced on Thursday. The 2019 edition, originally scheduled to take place from April 29 to May 5 in the Guinean capital, will now be held at a later date.
Organizers cited two main reasons for the delay: the passing of the father of former Guinean international Pascal Feindouno, a key promoter of the tournament, and the start of Ramadan. They noted that the competition can only be held after the conclusion of the holy month.
The TIC U18 aims to showcase young talent in West Africa, following the success of its inaugural edition, in which Boban FC of Guinea claimed the trophy ahead of Mali’s LAKIKA FC. The postponed tournament is expected to continue this tradition, providing a platform for emerging players to gain valuable exposure.
