Comoros are preparing for the March international break despite having no head coach or technical staff in place.

The Coelacanths are scheduled to take part in the FIFA Series 2026 in Astana, where they are due to face Kazakhstan on 25 March.

A second friendly match is planned for 28 March, with local reports suggesting Kuwait or Namibia as potential opponents, although no official confirmation has been issued.

Preparations have begun under the supervision of the federation following the team’s first-round elimination at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

That exit marked the end of a cycle and the beginning of what officials describe as a rebuilding phase for the national side.

The absence of a coaching team has added an unusual dimension to the preparations.

With no manager currently appointed, organisational responsibilities have fallen to the federation as it oversees arrangements for travel and fixtures.

The situation reflects a period of transition for the island nation’s football structure.
