CD Tondela have confirmed the signing of Comorian international Rémy Vita, with the 24-year-old left-back joining the newly promoted Liga Portugal side from Fortuna Sittard.
The Dutch club announced his departure, bringing an end to his two-year spell in the Eredivisie, where he made 42 appearances, scored twice and became a reliable figure on the left side of defence.
Vita, who joined Fortuna in July 2022, impressed with his pace, energy and attacking intent from full-back, qualities that earned him a loan move to Ligue 2 outfit Amiens SC for the 2024–25 season.
His time in France proved particularly fruitful, as he started 33 matches and emerged as one of the league’s standout defenders.
His consistency at both ends of the pitch was widely praised, enhancing his reputation across Europe.
Born in France but of Comorian heritage, Vita has long been viewed as part of a new wave of athletic, versatile defenders capable of adapting to different styles and leagues.
His trajectory reflects that versatility: nurtured in French academies, tested in the Netherlands, sharpened in Ligue 2, and now ready for a fresh challenge in Portugal’s top flight.
For Tondela, who secured promotion to the Primeira Liga this year, Vita’s arrival is a significant boost as they aim to consolidate their status in the division.

His international experience, combined with his proven ability to adjust quickly to new environments, makes him a valuable addition for a side that will face both tactical and physical challenges in their bid for survival.
The club will be hoping his attacking runs, defensive discipline and leadership qualities can help them remain competitive in a league renowned for producing and showcasing talent from both Europe and Africa.
Vita, meanwhile, sees the move as a chance to continue his upward progression and further test himself in a demanding competition.
Rémy Vita represents exactly the kind of profile we want for Tondela—young, dynamic, experienced, but still ambitious, a club spokesperson said. We are confident he will adapt quickly and bring quality to our squad.
At 24, Vita is entering a crucial stage of his career.
With experience already built across the Eredivisie and Ligue 2, and having established himself at international level with Comoros, he will now aim to leave his mark in Liga Portugal, helping Tondela fight for stability and growth in the top division.
