Como complete seventh summer signing with Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah

Como have completed the signing of Trevoh Chalobah from Chelsea on a contract running until the summer of 2031, with the defender arriving as the Italian club strengthen their squad for next season’s Champions League campaign.

The 27-year-old becomes Como’s seventh addition of the current summer transfer window. The club’s other new arrivals are Yan Couto, Lucas Da Cunha, Matteo Liberali, Kaiki, Luis Milla and Nico Paz, who has returned to Como after being bought back from Real Madrid.

Chalobah said he was delighted to join a club whose ambitions continue to grow, and welcomed the opportunity to work again with manager Cesc Fabregas.

“I’m very happy and extremely honoured to be here at Como. It’s an ambitious project that is constantly developing, and working with the coach Cesc Fabregas again is very special,” Chalobah told Como’s official website.

“I can’t wait to put my experience at the service of the team, feel the incredible atmosphere in the stadium and connect with the fans. I will give everything I have every day so that we can make history together.”

The move sees Chalobah leave Chelsea after establishing himself in the club’s senior set-up. He joined Chelsea’s academy at the age of eight and progressed through the various youth teams before securing a place in the first-team squad.

His Chelsea debut came in the 2021 UEFA Super Cup against Villarreal. The match finished 1-1 before Chelsea won the trophy in a penalty shootout.

Chalobah made 151 appearances for Chelsea, scoring eight goals and providing three assists. During his time with the club, he won the UEFA Super Cup once, the Conference League, the FIFA Club World Cup twice and the FA Cup.

The defender represented England at several youth levels before making his senior international debut in 2025. He was also included in England’s squad that finished third at the 2026 World Cup.

Como’s recruitment of Chalobah is intended to add further experience and defensive strength ahead of their return to Champions League competition next season. His long-term agreement ties him to the club until 2031 as Como continue to build a squad capable of competing on both the domestic and European stages.
