Como close in on Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah
Como are moving closer to signing Trevoh Chalobah after two earlier offers were turned away by Chelsea.
The Serie A club are now holding another round of talks, and they hope to settle the final details soon as they continue to build a stronger defense for next season.
Cesc Fabregas’ side have made Chalobah a priority target, and their latest proposal was reportedly worth 30 million euros plus 5 million in bonuses. Chelsea rejected it, but discussions have not stopped. Inter had also checked on the 27-year-old defender, yet they decided the asking price was too high, which has left Como in a stronger position.
Chalobah’s career at Chelsea began very early. He joined the club at the age of eight and signed his first professional contract in March 2018.
He collected several youth honours at Stamford Bridge, including the UEFA Youth League, two FA Youth Cups and the Under-18 Premier League title. He was also on the bench for Chelsea’s 2018 FA Cup final win over Manchester United, although he did not come on.
