Georgi Minoungou is expected to complete a move to Colorado Rapids from Seattle Sounders FC, despite still being under a long-term contract with the club.

The 23-year-old winger, who joined Seattle in August 2024, has quickly built a reputation in Major League Soccer, particularly for his dribbling ability.

His performances have seen him emerge as one of the more dynamic attacking players in the league during his time with the Sounders.

According to reports, the transfer is expected to be finalised for a fee of around $2 million in General Allocation Money (GAM), a mechanism commonly used in MLS transactions.

The move would bring an end to a relatively short but impactful spell at Seattle, where Minoungou had established himself as a promising talent.

His departure comes despite a contract that runs until 31 December 2028, underlining the level of interest in his profile and the willingness of clubs to invest in his potential.

Minoungou is currently valued at approximately €800,000, reflecting his growing standing within the league.

Before joining Seattle’s first team, Minoungou developed his career across several stages. He trained at MFK Vyškov and later featured for Tacoma Defiance, where he continued his progression before making the step up.

A move to Colorado Rapids would represent a new phase in his career, offering him the opportunity to continue his development within MLS while taking on a fresh challenge.

The transfer, once completed, is expected to be one of the notable intra-league moves of the window, as Colorado look to strengthen their attacking options with a player who has already demonstrated his ability to influence matches.
