Cody Gakpo: Tottenham linked with Liverpool winger

Dutch-Togolese left winger Cody Gakpo is reportedly attracting interest from Tottenham, with the 27-year-old currently contracted to Liverpool until 30 June 2030.

Gakpo joined Liverpool from PSV Eindhoven on 1 January 2023 in a deal worth €42m. He has since made 127 Premier League appearances for the club, scoring 32 goals and providing 18 assists.

The forward was part of Liverpool’s Premier League title-winning side in 2024-25 and also won the English League Cup with the club in 2024. His current market value is listed at €60m, although no transfer fee has been reported in connection with Tottenham’s interest.

Gakpo has also made a strong start to the 2026 World Cup, registering three goals and one assist in four appearances. He started all four matches and played 95% of the available minutes.

The Netherlands and Togo-qualified player developed at PSV, progressing through the club’s youth system before joining the senior side in 2018. During his time in the Eredivisie, he scored 36 goals and recorded 39 assists in 106 appearances.

Any move to Tottenham would therefore involve a player with seven years remaining on his Liverpool contract. The rumour was listed on 3 August 2026, with Gakpo still a Liverpool player.
