Cody Gakpo backs Liverpool's belief to stop Crystal Palace's unbeaten streak

Cody Gakpo believes Liverpool’s growing confidence and unity can be the key to ending Crystal Palace’s remarkable 17-match unbeaten run.

The Dutch forward shared his thoughts with the club’s official website, stressing that belief is at the core of their push.

“I think we are in a good moment. We put in a good winning streak and we hope to continue that one,” said Gakpo.

“Obviously we know how good they can be. We’ve played already, the last game of last season and obviously in the Community Shield. It’s a very good team with a lot of quality. It’s going to be a tough game.

“I think we just have to stay focused and play freely and go for goals, like we always try to do. Hopefully that will result in a win.

“Belief is the start of something great and I think we have great belief in ourselves and in the team. I hope that it may continue.

“We also have that feeling on the pitch that somehow we will find a moment to create a big chance and hopefully score. That’s what we are looking for all the time and that’s what we will look for tomorrow again.

“Obviously in some games the quality is always important, but some games ask something different – like mentality, like maybe physical duels or something.

“We showed in recent games that we also have that part and we are very happy with that.”
