Cameroonian coach Patrice Noukeu has reportedly submitted his resignation to Canon Sportif management, bringing his future at the Yaoundé-based club into serious doubt ahead of the new season.

As reported in Cameroon, Noukeu has decided to step down following a period of growing tension between him and the club’s management.

The relationship is understood to have deteriorated in recent weeks, with financial issues also becoming a major source of disagreement. Noukeu, through his lawyers, reportedly took legal action against Canon Sportif to demand payment of outstanding wages and signing bonuses.

The amount involved is said to exceed 10 million CFA francs, further deepening the dispute between the coach and the club.

Recent remarks attributed to Canon Sportif’s managing director regarding Noukeu are also reported to have contributed to the worsening relationship, with tensions between the two parties increasing as preparations for the new campaign continued.

Noukeu’s reported resignation therefore comes at a difficult time for Canon Sportif, who are preparing for the start of the new season of the Cameroonian professional league.

However, the coach’s departure has not yet been officially confirmed by the club. Canon Sportif has so far made no public statement regarding the reported resignation or Noukeu’s future.

If the resignation is formally accepted, Canon Sportif could be forced to make another change to their technical team before the new campaign gets underway, adding further uncertainty to the club’s preparations.
