Coach Lassaad Chabbi explains why he declined Olympique Safi’s offer
Tunisian coach Lassaad Chabbi, former manager of Raja Casablanca, has revealed the reasons behind his decision to decline Olympique Safi’s invitation to lead the team following Amine Kerma’s recent departure.
Chabbi stated: “Indeed, the president of Olympique Safi contacted me about taking the job, and I thank him and the club for their trust.” However, he added, “I informed the president of my apologies for not accepting the role at this time, as I prefer to rest for now due to the pressures I experienced before.”
He continued, “It’s true I coached Raja for a short period, but working at a big club like Raja puts you in a whirlpool of stress, even if it’s just for a week. That’s one reason I declined Safi’s offer, plus the financial terms were not encouraging.”
Chabbi concluded: “I wish Olympique Safi, Raja, and Moroccan football all the best. I have a great relationship of love and respect with football circles in Morocco.”
His recent exit from Raja was by mutual agreement, despite earning four points in his last two matches. Chabbi now looks forward to a well-deserved break, leaving the future open for new adventures.
