Senegal is determined to reverse their fortunes in the second leg of the Brazil 2014 World Cup play-off against Ivory Coast. Despite facing a two-goal deficit, the Lions of Teranga aim to secure qualification in the upcoming match scheduled for November 16 in Casablanca.
Lille players Pape Souaré and Idrissa Guèye, representing Senegal, express their optimism about the challenging mission ahead. However, their Ivorian teammate, Salomon Kalou, has been teasing them, causing frustration after the initial defeat.
“After our defeat, Kalou upset us a lot. In fact, he continues to do so. He says they (the Elephants) will beat us again. But we are hopeful that we will qualify. It’s not going to be easy, but we’re hopeful,” confided Souaré.
Despite the banter, the three players, Souaré, Guèye, and Kalou, are part of the Lille group for the upcoming Ligue 1 fixture against Guingamp on the 13th day. Following this domestic match, they will join their respective national teams for the crucial World Cup play-off clash.
