Ryad Mahrez, the talented attacking midfielder playing for Leicester City, is being pursued by the technical staff of the Algerian national team to join their squad for the upcoming World Cup. After successfully convincing several other players to join, including Ishak Belfodil, Aissa Mandi, and Nabil Bentaleb, the Algerian team is keen on adding Mahrez to their roster.
With impressive statistics of 9 goals and 9 assists so far this season, Mahrez has caught the attention of the Algerian selectors. He is being considered for inclusion in the pre-World Cup training camp, scheduled to take place in Sidi Moussa, Algeria, starting from May 10.
Mahrez is among a group of around thirty players under consideration, from which only twenty-three will be selected for the friendly match against Armenia in Sion on May 31. Following this, the Algerian team will face Romania in Geneva on June 4 before departing for Sao Paulo on June 7 in preparation for the World Cup.
