Burkinabé defender Bakary Koné emphasized the importance of a conquering spirit as Burkina Faso prepares to face Algeria in the 2014 World Cup play-offs. He highlighted that out of the ten teams in the play-offs, Burkina Faso and Ethiopia are the only ones that have not participated in a World Cup. This, he believes, adds to the team’s determination to make their mark.
While acknowledging the difficulty of the upcoming matches against Algeria, Koné expressed confidence and stated that the team is fully focused on achieving their dream of qualifying for the World Cup. He emphasized the significance of the first leg against Algeria and stressed the importance of a positive result, keeping in mind the return leg.
