Ahly winger Taher Mohamed Taher has stressed that the club is determined to beat Inter Miami in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
The Egyptian outfit will lock horns with the MLS side on Saturday night in the opening match of the tournament.
Speaking ahead of the game, Taher Mohamed said it is important to beat Al Ahly to send a strong message to the other participating teams at the tournament.
“We are capable of defeating Inter Miami in the opening match of the Club World Cup. If we win against Inter Miami, it will help us in the other matches and send a strong message to our rivals. We will spare no effort in the Club World Cup, and we want to go as far as possible,” Taher Mohamed Taher said.
He added, “Competition is a good thing for every team. No one is guaranteed a spot, and everyone will do their best, and this is in Al Ahly’s best interest. I still dream of playing professionally in Europe, but I am committed to my contract with Al Ahly and I am at the club’s disposal. If we receive an offer that suits me and the club, I might try my hand at professional football.”
In Group A, Al Ahly will face Palmeiras and FC Porto after the opening match against FC Porto.
