Al-Ahly faced disappointment in the Club World Cup as Guanghzou Evergrande secured a 2-0 victory. The Chinese club, in its first participation, advanced to the semi-finals. Elkeson opened the score in the 48th minute, followed by Muriqui’s goal in the 66th minute. Despite Al-Ahly’s efforts, they couldn’t break through, hitting the bar in the 78th minute. Guangzhou Evergrande will now face Bayern Munich on December 17 in the semi-finals.
